almost 83.1

I am going to have my 83rd birthday in a couple of weeks thus I am again pondering life, love and the state of the universe - as well as lots of trivia.  I thought I would record a little of life and a little of trivia.  Part of this is driven by idle thoughts that pass through my head that I might like to remember.  Part of it is driven by thinking I need to do something besides watching MSNBC in my idle time.

About life - I got a new prosthesis a week ago.  I have lost  bit of weight, my amputated limb got smaller, and I was wobbling around in my last prosthesis.  This one is smaller Also, the pain I was having where flesh met amputated fibula is no longer there.  I only have a weeks experience with this new part of me, but to date, I am so pleased with it.  Bionic Annie walks again!!  (At least a little bit).

About trivia - the new King Arthur's Flour Catalog arrived in yesterday's mail and I have been perusing it.  So much stuff I don't need just calling to me.  I would like one of these and one of those and would like to make this and that and the next.  None of this makes any sense for someone who had better not put on the few lost pounds else the new prosthesis will cease to fit.  I need to stay away from carbs - my favorite foods have lots of carbs.  Also need to stay away from sugar.  I am not being a purist about this, but I don't have breadstuff in the house except once in a while.  I will not place an order with King Arthur!!

More trivia - I have taken to making a salad in the morning and putting an over easy egg on top of it along with a couple of slices of avocado.  That seems to work.  I have also developed an affinity for Oui yogurt - a french type yogurt - and I like it with granola which I have decided is an acceptable carb.  I have also developed an affinity for Yogi blackberry moringa green tea.  I have liked fruit flavored teas for a while, and this is my new most favorite.

One more piece of trivia - I bought a Power Quick Pot -  a robot like thing that is supposed to do everything you ever needed.  I figured I could push a button for it to do what I needed.  At this point, I can get it to do one thing.  I'm not a technology novice and I even can read instructions.  I have yet to figure out more than that one thing with this pot.  I will keep trying, but I would rather read the King Arthur Flour catalog.

And talking about reading, I just finished a book, Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear.  It was a delight.  I want more of Maisie Dobbs and I understand there is more.  Will find additional Maisie books as soon as I finish the pile I have out from the library.  Starting Doris Kearns Goodwin's Leadership in Turbulent Times next.  Surely it will not give me as much delight as Maisie did.

So - a little bit about life and a lot about trivia.  And now to bed and to read.
(And next perhaps I will ponder what to do about my rarely used Facebook account, my frequently used Amazon Prime account, and my email account where I am missing all my friends' mail because of the plethora of political mail that comes to me).
